The First and Only
If you could inject the glow of eight hours of sleep into your skin, wouldn’t you? SkinVive™ by JUVÉDERM® might be the next best thing. Approved by the FDA in May 2023, SkinVive is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable in the U.S. designed to improve skin smoothness in the cheeks.
Unlike traditional fillers that restore volume, SkinVive is considered a “skin booster”—its primary purpose is to hydrate the skin from within, giving you a radiant, refreshed look that can last up to six months.
Book OnlineWho Is a Good Candidate for SkinVive?
SkinVive is FDA-approved for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI). It is ideal for individuals who experience dull skin or want to enhance cheek smoothness and improve skin hydration and quality.
Is There Any Downtime?
SkinVive treatments involve little to no downtime. Most patients return to their normal activities shortly after the procedure.
Hydrated Skin Is Healthy Skin
Hyaluronic acid boosts the skin’s natural ability to retain moisture and softness. The unique, modified HA gel formula in SkinVive helps the cheeks maintain hydration, resulting in smoother, more supple skin.
What to Expect During Treatment
- SkinVive is administered through multiple microdroplet injections, with a small amount of product placed just beneath the skin on each cheek.
- A licensed specialist will guide you through the procedure and provide aftercare instructions.
- To maximize comfort, SkinVive includes lidocaine, a local anesthetic commonly used in dental procedures.
Important Warnings to Discuss with Your Doctor
Though rare, one potential risk of dermal fillers is accidental injection into a blood vessel. This can lead to serious and sometimes permanent complications such as:
- Vision changes or blindness
- Stroke symptoms
- Scarring or skin damage
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience vision issues, severe headache, numbness, face drooping, or unusual pain during or after treatment.
Treatment should be postponed if the skin has active sores, rashes, infections, or cystic acne, as these may worsen or delay healing.
The safety and effectiveness of removing dermal fillers has not been studied.
Precautions to Follow
- Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and sun or heat exposure for 24 hours after treatment to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.
- Inform your provider if you’re taking medications that thin the blood (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen), which may increase bruising or bleeding.
- Let your doctor know if you plan to undergo laser treatments, chemical peels, or other facial procedures, as these may cause an inflammatory reaction.
- This product is only approved for improving cheek smoothness; its use in other areas has not been studied.
- Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, immunocompromised, or have a history of pigmentation disorders or scarring.
