Overview
Your eyes are the first thing people read. Before a word is spoken, the skin around them has already said rested or exhausted, young or worn out. When that skin starts to crease, hollow, or droop, no amount of concealer fully fixes it — because the issue isn’t on the surface, it’s in the collagen underneath. SmoothEye® works there.
At Rose MD Aesthetics, SmoothEye® laser treatment is a physician-performed, no-surgery, no-injectable way to tighten and refresh the delicate skin framing your eyes. One short appointment, minimal downtime, and a result that looks like you — just less tired.
What Is SmoothEye® Laser Treatment?
SmoothEye® is a non-invasive laser eye rejuvenation treatment that targets the three things that age the eye area at once: fine lines, lax skin, and puffiness. It’s powered by the Fotona Er:YAG laser system — the same precision platform behind several of our signature treatments — and it’s gentle enough to work safely on the thinnest, most delicate skin on your entire face.
Here’s what’s actually happening during a smootheye treatment. The laser delivers controlled energy in two ways. A light surface pass softens crow’s feet and refines skin texture. A second, deeper pass warms the underlying tissue to a precise therapeutic temperature and holds it there — just long enough to trigger your body’s own collagen to contract and rebuild. The skin tightens. The contour lifts. Circulation improves, which is part of why under-eye puffiness tends to settle.
No scalpel. No needles. No stitches. The result is a firmer, smoother, more awake-looking eye area that develops naturally over the weeks following treatment as fresh collagen forms.
SmoothEye® is a strong fit if you’re noticing:
- Crow’s feet and fine lines fanning out from the corners of your eyes
- Crepey, thinning skin on the lower lids or beneath the eyes
- Mild sagging or “hooding” of the upper eyelids
- Puffiness that makes you look tired even when you’re not
- The early signs of aging around the eyes that creams haven’t touched
It also works beautifully alongside other treatments — many patients use SmoothEye® to extend and sharpen the results of their tox or filler, or to complement a surgical eyelift with smoother surrounding skin.
What to Expect: Your SmoothEye® Appointment, Step by Step
We believe you should know exactly what’s coming before you ever sit in the chair. Here’s how a SmoothEye® visit unfolds at our Troy med spa.
The Consultation Every SmoothEye® journey starts with a one-on-one skin assessment with our physician team. We look at your skin quality, the specific concerns around your eyes, your goals, and your history — then tell you honestly whether SmoothEye® is the right call, and how many sessions you’re likely to need. No pressure, no upsell.
The Prep On treatment day, the eye area is cleansed and protective eye shields are placed to keep your eyes fully safe throughout. There’s no need for needles or numbing injections — most patients are comfortable with the laser’s built-in cooling alone. We’ll walk you through every step as it happens.
The Treatment The laser is passed precisely over the skin around your eyes, delivering its surface-smoothing and deep-warming energy. Most patients describe a warm, prickling sensation — manageable and brief. The treatment itself takes roughly 30 minutes from start to finish, which is why people fit it into a lunch break.
The Recovery You’ll walk out the same day. Expect the treated skin to feel sensitive — similar to a mild sunburn — for a few hours, with possible redness for a day or two. Many patients are back to normal activities right away and simply layer on sunscreen. We’ll send you home with clear aftercare guidance and a follow-up plan.
Why SmoothEye® at Rose MD Aesthetics Is Different
There are places in metro Detroit where a laser is handed to whoever happens to be on shift. This is not one of them.
At Rose MD Aesthetics, SmoothEye® is delivered under the direction of Dr. Rose Natheer and Dr. Aiman Mahmood — physicians with a combined 38 years of clinical experience. Dr. Natheer is board-certified with a background spanning internal medicine, obesity medicine, and regenerative aesthetics; Dr. Mahmood serves as Medical Director with deep expertise in metabolic and hormonal health. That medical foundation matters more than people realize when a laser is working millimeters from the eye.
What that means for you:
- A physician sets your treatment plan — laser settings, number of sessions, and approach are determined by clinical judgment, not a one-size-fits-all script.
- Safety on delicate skin is non-negotiable. Protective shielding, conservative energy settings, and a careful read of your skin type come standard.
- Honest expectations. If SmoothEye® isn’t right for your concern, we’ll tell you — and point you toward something that is.
- A treatment, not a transaction. You’re cared for by a team that builds long-term relationships, not a revolving door.
This is the difference between getting a laser and being treated by a doctor who happens to use one.
Pairs Well With
The eyes don’t age in isolation, and they rarely rejuvenate best in isolation either. Many of our patients combine SmoothEye® with complementary treatments for a more complete refresh:
- Tox (BOTOX® / Dysport® / Jeuveau) — relaxes the muscle movement that drives crow’s feet, while SmoothEye® smooths the skin itself. The two together outlast either one alone.
- Dermal filler (Restylane® / JUVÉDERM®) — restores volume to hollow tear troughs, while SmoothEye® tightens the surrounding skin.
- Fotona4D® Facelift — extends the lifting-and-tightening effect from the eye area across the full face.
- HydraFacial or medical-grade skincare — keeps the freshly rejuvenated skin healthy and glowing between sessions.
Not sure what you need? That’s exactly what your consultation is for.

What our patients say
SmoothEye® Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get rid of crow's feet around my eyes without surgery?
You have real options that don’t involve an operating room. SmoothEye® laser treatment is one of the most effective — it uses controlled laser energy to smooth the skin’s surface and stimulate fresh collagen beneath crow’s feet, softening those lines naturally over time. For many patients, pairing SmoothEye® with a neuromodulator like BOTOX® or Dysport® delivers the best of both worlds: the laser refines the skin while the tox relaxes the muscle movement creating the creases.
Is there a non-surgical way to lift droopy, sagging eyelids?
Yes — for mild to moderate sagging, SmoothEye® can help without surgery. The laser warms the deeper layers of skin around the eyes to a precise temperature, prompting collagen to contract and the skin to tighten and lift. The effect builds gradually as new collagen forms, giving the eye area a firmer, more open appearance. It’s important to be realistic, though: SmoothEye® is excellent for skin laxity, but very heavy or advanced eyelid drooping may be better suited to surgical blepharoplasty.
How many SmoothEye® sessions do I need to see results?
Most patients achieve their best results with a short series of sessions spaced a few weeks apart, allowing collagen to rebuild between visits. The exact number depends on your skin, your concerns, and your goals — which is why we set your plan during a personalized consultation rather than quoting a blanket figure.
Are laser eye treatments done by a doctor or a technician?
At Rose MD Aesthetics, SmoothEye® is delivered under the direct supervision of our board-certified physicians, Dr. Rose Natheer and Dr. Aiman Mahmood. We consider this essential — the skin around the eyes is the most delicate on the face, and treating it safely requires genuine clinical expertise, not just familiarity with a machine. When you choose us, your laser settings, treatment approach, and safety protocols are all guided by physician judgment. This is not the standard everywhere, so it’s always worth asking who will actually be performing your treatment.
Is a laser eyelift safe for darker skin tones?
Skin tone is a genuinely important consideration with any laser treatment, and it’s one we take seriously. The Fotona Er:YAG technology behind SmoothEye® is well-regarded for its precision and its favorable safety profile across a range of skin types when used by an experienced provider at appropriate settings. That said, the right approach depends on your individual skin, and a careful pre-treatment assessment is essential to minimize any risk of pigment changes.
Does SmoothEye® hurt, and what does recovery look like?
SmoothEye® is well-tolerated by most patients. During treatment, you’ll feel a warm, prickling sensation as the laser works — manageable and brief, with no need for injectable numbing. The full session takes around 30 minutes. Afterward, the treated skin feels sensitive for a few hours, much like a mild sunburn, and you may have some redness for a day or two. Many patients return to their normal routine right away. We’ll provide complete aftercare instructions, and diligent sun protection is the most important thing you can do to protect your results while the skin recovers.
How is a laser eyelift different from blepharoplasty?
The core difference is surgery versus no surgery. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that physically removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids, performed under anesthesia with a recovery period of one to several weeks — and it produces dramatic, long-lasting results for significant sagging. SmoothEye® laser treatment is non-surgical: it tightens and smooths the skin by stimulating your own collagen, with minimal downtime and no incisions. It’s ideal for fine lines, crepey texture, and mild to moderate laxity.
